Dexterous hands included
Ships with robust, durable 1 DoF grippers (rubberized interior) included in the base price. These are simple open/close grippers, not dexterous multi-finger hands. Arms give floor-to-countertop reach. Fauna also references modular/swappable end-effectors and tool changers, but the standard grippers come with the robot.

Reality check
This is a lightweight, gentle developer platform, not a worker: the 1 DoF grippers and ~2 kg-class payload mean light interaction (toys, gestures, guiding people), so budget $50K expecting to write your own applications on top of the built-in behaviors, and know EU support is not spelled out post-Amazon.

Positioned as a developer/research platform. Fauna sells the "Sprout Creator Edition" to researchers, educators, and commercial developers via an application ("Request Robot" Typeform), not open retail, and says it is shipping today. Named early customers include Disney, Boston Dynamics, UC San Diego, and NYU. Since March 2026 Fauna operates as an Amazon company and says it continues selling Sprout Creator Edition.
Price notes: Sprout Creator Edition is priced at roughly $50,000 (widely reported at launch: CNBC, Inc., Fortune). No official EUR price published; the number was quoted as an early/launch price and is not shown as a live cart price. Sale is application-gated rather than fixed retail.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Powers on as a friendly, self-contained social humanoid: it maps and navigates a space, walks/kneels/crawls, waves, dances, jumps, recovers from falls, holds voice conversations, and expresses intent through its 360-degree facial LED array and motorized eyebrows. You can drive it immediately with the companion-app whole-body teleoperation, no code required.
Best for: Robotics researchers, universities, and product teams who want a safe, approachable, ready-to-run bipedal platform for locomotion, manipulation, and human-robot-interaction work, plus data collection, without building a humanoid from scratch.

Fauna markets Sprout to researchers and developers with full SDK access, for real-world data collection, engineering curriculum and student projects, and guest-facing retail and entertainment roles.
Sprout is sold by request rather than checkout, its grippers are 1-DoF, and retail, entertainment and classroom applications must be built by the buyer on the included behaviors and APIs.
Source reviewed 2026-10-05Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.
