Hands

No hands, none offered

No gripper, finger or hand actuator is listed in the specs or the box contents. The page gives 20 DOF in total with 12 in the legs (6 per leg), which leaves 8 for the arms. The arm span is 510 mm. The maker's embedded product video shows arms ending in fixed hand-shaped tips. The page headline claims 'walking + manipulation', but no grasping hardware is documented.

Reality check

You would be paying $2,499 up front for a robot that has not shipped, whose starter kit is marked Coming Soon and whose linked GitHub repository is not public yet, and the FCC Approved badge on the page comes with no FCC ID.

Yes: a seller in the United States lists it, so you buy it without importing it yourself.

US authorization: We found no public FCC ID for this model. Since 28 July 2026 a foreign-made robot can be sold into the US only under an FCC authorization from before that date, so ask the seller for its FCC ID, or its Supplier's Declaration of Conformity dated before 28 July 2026, before you pay.

No hands, none offered

Spare batteries and other accessories are excluded. Confirm compatibility and pricing with the seller.

Individuals and companies can inquire. Confirm the configuration, stock, and delivery with the seller.

Orders ship to US addresses only. The Terms of Service require that purchases are for personal or household use and not for commercial resale or export.

Price notes: One edition at $2,499.00 (USD), the 'M1 EDU Combo', which includes the cart (the page calls it a $200 value). The 'Reserve M1' button puts the full item in the cart and checkout totals $2,499.00; no separate deposit amount appears on the current page. Shipping and taxes are calculated after an address is entered. Terms of Service say posted prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs or import charges. Cancellation: the FAQ says there is a full refund any time before dispatch. Older Zeroth landing pages that are still online show different offers ($1,499 with a $30 reservation, $1,699 'Founder Edition', MSRP $2,499); checkout does not honour them.

About the M1background, hardware and buying reality+

The M1 EDU Combo is the developer edition of Zeroth's M1: 50 cm tall, 2.8 kg, 12 leg joints plus dual arms (20 DOF, 510 mm arm span). It runs on a Horizon RDK 5 board with a 10 TOPS NPU and carries a head LiDAR, a mouth RGB camera, a torso depth sensor and a 3-microphone array. Battery life is about 2 hours, walking speed about 0.2 m/s, and 1.1 m/s on the included cart. Zeroth is the consumer-robotics brand of Suzhou JoyIn Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., founded in December 2024 and based in Suzhou, China. The store asks for the full $2,499 now for a first batch of 100 units in November (page also says ships Q4 2026) and delivers to the United States only. Faraday Future's FF Nova, launched on 15 October 2026 at $2,490 for 100 invited buyers, publishes a spec table that matches the M1 point for point and shows the same body in its store renders; neither company states a link.

What it does on day onewith zero programming+

Per the page, six reference behaviours come pre-loaded (variable-speed walk, walking on rough ground and slopes, one-leg kick, get up after a fall, dance, balance on the cart), the bundled gamepad drives walking and turning with no configuration, and the face display is programmable. No customer unit has shipped, so none of this is independently confirmed.

Best for: Developers and students who want to practise humanoid RL locomotion (sim-to-real) at desk scale and can wait for a first-batch product whose documentation is still being published.

Compare head to head

  • Nova vs M1

The product page documents a Python API, a low-level Spine SDK, ROS 2 integration and Isaac Gym and MuJoCo reference workflows for this edition.

Starter kit marked Coming Soon, linked GitHub repo returned 404, no unit shipped yet. No grippers are documented, so no manipulation.

Source reviewed 2026-10-17

Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.

What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access+

A Linux-class PC with an NVIDIA GPU of at least 8 GB VRAM, Python and PyTorch skills, and comfort with reinforcement learning (the page uses PPO, Isaac Gym and MuJoCo) to train a policy, export it to ONNX and deploy it with 'python deploy.py policy.onnx' or the controller shortcut. Reference scripts are in the private Discord. ROS 2 is optional.

SDK access: Python API for high-level behaviours plus the low-latency 'Micro Robot Spine SDK' (the page also calls it the 'M1 Spine SDK') for direct motor commands. ROS 2 is supported 'at the message-bus level'. Policies trained in PyTorch export to ONNX and deploy through what the page calls the 'Reinforced Imitation Framework'; reference workflows are described for Isaac Gym and MuJoCo. Custom models run on a 10 TOPS NPU through the ONNX toolchain. The page markets 'Fully open-source deployment' with 'full source code included', but the linked GitHub repository (ZerothOpenBridge/Zeroth-M1_edu_combo) returned 404 and that organization, created on 13 Oct 2026, had no public repositories on 17 Oct 2026, so the open-source claim cannot be checked yet.
