EVE
1X's wheeled, gripper-handed work android, fielded from 2022 as a managed, teleoperation-backed service for security and logistics, not as a robot you buy, own, or program. 1X's site now shows only an updates sign-up for it.

Grippers, not dexterous hands
EVE's arms end in simple gripper hands built for grabbing, carrying, and door-opening (up to a 15 kg payload), not for fine finger manipulation. This is the honest gap between EVE and its home-robot sibling NEO: the human-like dexterous hands you see in newer 1X marketing belong to NEO, not to EVE. If your use case needs finger-level dexterity, this is the wrong machine.

Reality check
EVE is a real, commercially fielded robot, but you cannot walk up and buy one: it came as a managed deployment with a human teleoperator in the loop, simple grippers instead of dexterous hands, and no SDK. 1X's own focus has moved to the NEO home biped and the EVE page now offers only an updates sign-up, so treat EVE as the proven-but-legacy industrial platform, not the machine 1X is selling next.
Can you get one, and what will it cost?

You cannot order the EVE today: it is b2b only.
Enterprise and institutional buyers only, and even then it arrives as a managed deployment (robots plus 1X's teleoperation and support), not hardware you own and program yourself. 1X has since pivoted its public roadmap to the NEO home biped, so EVE is effectively a legacy industrial platform for existing and pilot customers rather than something new buyers are onboarded onto. The EVE page now offers only an updates sign-up, with no sales contact.

Price notes: No list price. EVE was never a catalog product you add to a cart: 1X fielded it as a managed workforce, quoted per engagement. Its page now shows only the heading 'Eve Industrial' and an updates sign-up, with no price or sales contact. Deployments ran under partner brands (for example ADT/Everon's EvoGuard security program, in a piloting phase in 2023) rather than as unit sales. The much-publicized $20,000 / $499-a-month figure is the consumer NEO biped, not EVE.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Nothing you configure yourself. EVE is not sold as a programmable platform: day one, it does what 1X has trained and set up for that engagement (patrol a site, open doors, verify badges, move and place objects) under shared autonomy, with a remote 1X operator able to drive it via VR whenever it hits something it cannot handle alone. You are buying an outcome plus an operator, not a robot you script.
Best for: Enterprises running a supervised humanoid pilot (site security, warehouse and office logistics) who want an outcome plus a remote operator, and are fine that 1X keeps the code, the hands stay grippers, and there is no price tag or SDK. Confirm with 1X that EVE is still offered: its page now shows only an updates sign-up.
What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access
There is no public developer path. EVE's autonomy, imitation-learning pipeline, and teleoperation stack are 1X's, and no buyer-facing SDK is published, so developing on EVE means partnering with 1X to have them train and deploy behaviors for you. If you want a humanoid you can program yourself, this is not it: look at platforms that ship an SDK on every tier.
