Grippers, not dexterous hands
Aeo does not have anthropomorphic hands. Each 7-DOF arm ends in a 1-DOF interchangeable gripper/tool mount that swaps to task attachments (gripper for delivery and object handling, UV-C lamp for disinfection, etc.). One arm typically performs the task while the other opens doors and operates elevator buttons. Single-arm lift is about 8 lb (3.6 kg). Attachment options and any add-on cost are handled per RaaS contract and are not publicly priced.

Reality check
You will never own this robot or see a price tag: Aeo is a subscription service commissioned by Aeolus's team for care facilities, so unless you run an institution in Japan, Hong Kong, or Taiwan (or can convince a distributor to pilot one), you cannot actually buy it.
Can you get one, and what will it cost?
A planning estimate with machine, freight, duty, and tax shown separately.
You cannot order the Aeo today: it is b2b only.
Only care facilities, hospitals, hotels, and property managers can engage Aeo, and only through a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription contract, not an outright purchase. Active fleets run in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. There is no consumer or developer SKU and no published US consumer availability as of mid-2026.

Price notes: No public price. Aeo is offered exclusively as a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) monthly/annual subscription negotiated per facility, per set of modules (eldercare monitoring, delivery, security, disinfection), and per region. Aeolus and its resellers (MetaDolce/servicerobotics.ai in the US, Leobotics in the EU, local distributors in Japan/HK/Taiwan) all direct buyers to request a quote. No deposit, unit price, or monthly figure is disclosed anywhere public as of mid-2026.

About the Aeobackground, hardware and buying reality
It is notable as one of the few robots that autonomously rides elevators and opens doors, using two 7-DOF arms (each ending in an interchangeable gripper/tool, not a hand) on a two-wheel human-aware base with a 3D-camera head. It is deployed for real at major Japanese eldercare providers and property managers, plus Hong Kong and Taiwan. Crucially for a buyer: Aeo is sold only as a Robot-as-a-Service subscription to institutions, never sold outright, with no public price and no consumer or US retail SKU. It is a humanoid-style mobile manipulator, not a bipedal humanoid.
What it does on day onewith zero programming
Day one, after Aeolus/its integrator maps and commissions the site, Aeo autonomously navigates the facility, rides elevators and opens doors by itself, patrols and monitors, detects a fallen or at-risk resident and alerts staff, delivers small items, and runs UV-C disinfection routes, all controllable from a smartphone app with no programming by the customer.
Best for: Eldercare facilities, hospitals, hotels, and managed properties (in Japan, Hong Kong, or Taiwan) that want a hands-off, fully-serviced robot for resident monitoring and fall alerts, indoor delivery, patrol, and disinfection, and are comfortable subscribing rather than owning.
Documented uses
Aeolus's site carries testimonials from named Japanese operators (HIMEDIC, Globeship, Medical Care Service) and offers aeo for delivery, security patrol, care rounds and disinfection.
