Reality check
This is the rare cheap humanoid with no SDK paywall: even the entry Geek tier is fully programmable, so you are not buying a locked demo box.
Can you get one, and what will it cost?
A planning estimate with machine, freight, duty, and tax shown separately.
Yes: a seller in the United States lists it, so you buy it without importing it yourself.
US authorization: We found no public FCC ID for this model. Since 28 July 2026 a foreign-made robot can be sold into the US only under an FCC authorization from before that date, so ask the seller for its FCC ID, or its Supplier's Declaration of Conformity dated before 28 July 2026, before you pay.
The maker publishes no price for the K1, so there is no import estimate to United States. A seller in the United States does list it, and that price is the delivered figure here.

Price notes: Booster no longer publishes a direct price: its store is now an inquiry form (the Geek tier launched at $5,999, with a $4,999 promo). In the US, Maverick Drone lists the Geek tier with the 5 Ah battery at $11,799 (an upgraded Geek package at $12,999), the EDU tier (Jetson Orin NX 8 GB) at $14,999 and the Pro (Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB) at $16,999. In the EU, Generation Robots (exclusive distributor) sells from EUR 9,000 incl. VAT (EUR 7,500 excl.) in Geek, Educative and Pro versions. Runtime depends on the battery: about 30 min on the 2 Ah pack, about 80 min on the 5 Ah pack. Every tier supports secondary development, unlike Unitree's locked base units.
Links marked commission link are affiliate links: if you buy through one, Robots International pays HumanoidStore a share of the sale, at no cost to you. Which sellers we list, their order, and everything we say about a machine are decided without regard to it.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Among the most functional at its price: walks day one, remote and app control, demo motions, voice/LLM interaction, and a proven autonomous soccer stack (RoboCup 2025 KidSize champion lineage). Widely used for demos with zero code.
Best for: Schools, RoboCup teams, and labs that want an affordable, fully open, competition-proven development platform.
Documented uses
Robotics R&D / Teaching / education / Learn and tinker / Demo / showpiece
Booster documents development support on all three K1 tiers and use in robotics education and RoboCup.
Base arms have no grasping end effector. Custom tasks require programming; the entry battery has a shorter runtime.
Source reviewed 2026-09-09Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.
What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access
Usable by schools with only the app. For real work: Python or C++, ROS 2, Linux; RL training wants a GPU workstation, and the Jetson tiers help for onboard AI.
SDK access: Open across ALL tiers (unlike Unitree R1): Python/C++ APIs, ROS 2, Booster Studio IDE, open-source RoboCup framework, and sim support (Isaac, MuJoCo, Webots, Gazebo). Tiers differ by compute, not by SDK lock.
