Dexterous hands included
Moya has two arms with hands and performs fluid, human-like arm gestures, but DroidUp positions it for social presence rather than dexterous manipulation. Hand/finger degree-of-freedom and grip specifications have not been published, and independent coverage notes it is not designed as a manipulation robot. One secondary aggregator cites a 2 kg per-arm carry and 10 kg deadlift, but this is unconfirmed by the maker.

Reality check
This is an announced, pre-market social-presence robot, not something you can buy or ship today. It walks and emotes convincingly but is not built to manipulate objects or do physical work, has no published SDK, and has no confirmed path outside China, and the ~$173K figure is a projected late-2026 price, not a live one.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Out of the box, Moya is a social-presence robot: it walks with a claimed 92% human-like gait, turns smoothly, maintains eye contact via cameras behind its eyes, tracks faces, and reproduces micro-expressions (smiling, winking, nodding, blinking) with warm 32-36C silicone skin. It is built to hold attentive, lifelike social exchanges, not to do physical work or manipulate objects.
Best for: Healthcare, eldercare, education, and customer-facing commercial settings that want an emotionally engaging, lifelike social robot rather than a laborer.
What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access
No public developer program, SDK, ROS support, or API has been announced. Motion is driven by DroidUp's proprietary "Zhuoyide cerebellar motor control model" on a modular bionic platform. Any deployment would be through DroidUp directly as an institutional buyer, not a developer-accessible open platform.
SDK access: No published SDK or open API as of mid-2026. Coverage indicates developer accessibility is not a stated priority; control is via DroidUp's internal cerebellar motor-control system with autonomous, teleoperation, and learned-behavior modes mentioned but not documented for third parties.
