Hands

Grippers, not dexterous hands

The iggyRob igus sells today is listed and pictured with one suction gripper (with CobotPump) and one ReBeL two-finger gripper, not the two bionic hands shown at the 2025 launch. The long description on the product page still mentions bionic hands, so confirm the tooling in your quote.

In the crate

ReBeLMove Pro AMR mobile base Two igus ReBeL 6-DOF cobot arms with one suction gripper (CobotPump) and one ReBeL gripper LIDAR + 3D cameras Screen face ROS2 interfaces on the base and the arms; igus Robot Control software for programming the arms

You still have to add

Legs (it is a wheeled humanoid, cannot climb stairs) General autonomy (tasks are programmed like cobot applications) Heavy payload (igus lists a maximum component weight of 1.5 kg; the ReBeL arms are rated 2 kg each) One program for the whole robot in igus Robot Control (per igus's RBTX listing only the arms can be programmed there; the robot is controlled via ROS2)

Day oneA real usable machine for narrow tasks once they are programmed.

Reality check

It is honest engineering, not an AI dream: it rolls rather than walks, comes with a suction gripper and a two-finger gripper rather than hands, and handles parts of up to 1.5 kg, but it actually does programmed tasks at a Western-affordable price.

Yes, with work

Yes, with work: importable into United States.

US authorization: We found no public FCC ID for this model. Since 28 July 2026 a foreign-made robot can be sold into the US only under an FCC authorization from before that date, so ask the seller for its FCC ID, or its Supplier's Declaration of Conformity dated before 28 July 2026, before you pay. Every humanoid you can still buy in the US

Spare batteries and other accessories are excluded. Confirm compatibility and pricing with the seller.

Price notes: igus lists the iggyRob in its own shop at EUR 51,691.37 plus VAT and shipping, with Add to cart and delivery time on request (checked 5 Oct 2026); its RBTX marketplace quotes a usual delivery time of 2 to 3 months. It launched at EUR 47,999. igus North America shows no price. igus offers a test-before-you-invest program: an on-site evaluation before purchase. Built from igus's own motion-plastics components (AMR base + two ReBeL cobot arms + a suction gripper and a ReBeL gripper; the bionic hands shown at launch are not in the current product information). A second variant, iggyRob Home, was introduced in 2026 from about EUR 55,000; the figure here is the original industrial and service model.

What it does on day onewith zero programming

A real usable machine for narrow tasks once they are programmed: autonomous navigation, pick-and-place with its suction gripper and two-finger gripper, transport between stations, and reception, with up to ~8h battery (less under very active use, per igus's own RBTX listing). Think mobile dual-arm cobot in a humanoid shell, not an AI humanoid.

Best for: European businesses that want a dependable, low-code, do-real-work service robot without hype.

Documented uses

Demo / showpieceReal work / logistics

igus sells the iggyRob for transporting components in factory halls, reception tasks and carrying dishes to the cafeteria.

igus names no customer deployment and offers an on-site test before purchase, each task needs programming and site integration over ROS2, and arm payload is 1.5 to 2 kg.

Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.

What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access

Low-code igus Robot Control for arm programming; the robot as a whole is controlled and integrated through ROS2 (the base and the arms each offer a ROS2 interface), and igus's RBTX listing says direct integration into igus Robot Control is not yet possible. Standard cobot and ROS2 integration skills, no ML expertise required.

SDK access: igus Robot Control (free low-code environment, used for the arms), ROS2 interfaces on the base and arms, and the RBTX ecosystem; more open and affordable than any US humanoid, but not an AI research stack.
