Unconfirmed

Delivery to United States needs seller confirmation.

We do not have a confirmed shipping route for the KHR-3HV to United States. Coverage in another country does not establish delivery here, so no delivered total is shown.

Same as the EU: Kondo's shop is Japan-only, Vstone does not state export terms, and no US dealer listing was found.

Kondo's own Robospot shop sells to addresses in Japan only, in Japanese only, and says it may refuse buyers who plan to take the product abroad and will stop shipment of purchases made to export. Vstone's robot shop is also a Japanese-language shop; no listing on it says whether it ships abroad.

Price notes: Kondo lists every KHR price as 'open' (no list price) on its own product pages. Real prices are in its Robospot web shop and at dealers, all yen incl. 10% tax, shipping not included (Robospot: free shipping at 30,000 yen excl. tax or more, Japan only). About the KHR-3HVbackground, hardware and buying reality

The KHR-3HV is Kondo's long-running hobby biped, first released in 2009. Ver.3.1 uses the KRS-2552R3HV servo with full metal gears, an aluminium frame, an RCB-4HV board and an included Li-Fe battery. Finished size is 401 x 194 x 129 mm and weight about 1.5 kg (about 1.8 kg with five extra servos). Kondo lists it as made in Japan. The standard set is 17 axes; five dummy-servo positions add arm twist, hip twist and a waist axis for 22. The maker shows no list price: its own Japan-only shop sells the standard set for 136,400 yen incl. tax, the 22-axis version for 172,480 yen, and bundles with radio and sensors up to 209,000 yen.

What it does on day onewith zero programming

After the buyer assembles it with a screwdriver, it walks and plays the supplied motions once motions are loaded from the HeartToHeart4 software over USB. Without the optional radio controller it is driven from a PC.

Best for: A hobbyist or competition builder in Japan who wants a metal-geared, expandable biped kit and reads Japanese.

    Documented uses

    Learn and tinker

Kondo documents HeartToHeart4 motion creation by mouse and a dedicated HeartToHeart4 lesson page for builders.

Windows-only, Japanese-language, no SDK, ROS or manipulation documented for this edition.

    Source reviewed 2026-11-03

Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.

What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access

A Windows 10 or 11 PC with USB (HeartToHeart4 motion software, mouse operated, no programming language needed per Kondo), a Phillips screwdriver, and patience for Japanese-language documentation. Kondo's site lists servo (ICS/KRS) and RCB board development documents.

SDK access: Motion programming through Kondo's HeartToHeart4 on Windows. Kondo's support menu lists ICS/KRS servo and RCB board development documents; I could not open the documents themselves, so ROS or open-source support is not established.
