Grippers, not dexterous hands
Each arm ends in a servo-driven two-finger claw with soft TPU fingers on an open connector, so you can design your own end effector. Grip force is estimated from the servo's current; there is no force sensor. Payload is 1.5 kg per arm at 55 cm reach.

Day onePer Nori's docs, you pair it to a Nori account, then drive it by keyboard in a browser, in VR or from code, record demonstrations of a task, have Nori's cloud train a policy on them, and run that policy from your own computer over the network.
Reality check
At $1,688 it is the cheapest wheeled two-armed robot in this catalog, but you pay in full up front to a five-person startup with no terms, warranty or refund policy published, for a batch with no ship date, and its own docs say it cannot yet perceive objects on its own.

Anyone with a card: checkout asks for a name, email and address, with no business or research check. A separate developer beta application exists for researchers and engineering teams. Checkout accepts shipping addresses in 60 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, India and every EU country except Cyprus, but not Australia.
Price notes: $1,688, full price paid at order ('Full price, no deposit'), for a limited second batch of 100 units that the checkout calls 'Batch 2 shipping Fall 2026' and 'Fully refundable'. Checkout added no tax or shipping line for a San Francisco or a Berlin address (read 22 Oct 2026); Nori's beta form says international buyers are the importer of record and pay duties and customs. No terms, warranty or refund policy page is published.

About the A3background, hardware and buying reality
The A3 comes from Nori Robotics, a five-person Y Combinator (Summer 2026) startup founded by Antonio Sitong Li, which opened orders on 18 August 2026. It weighs 20.4 kg on a 45 x 45 cm base, has 19 actuated joints (7 plus a gripper per arm, the lift and two drive wheels; the head is fixed), Feetech serial-bus servos, a Raspberry Pi 5 for control and safety, four cameras and a lidar. Nori's docs and its hardware paper say A3 units have shipped since 21 July 2026, while its store sells a 100-unit second batch for 'fall 2026'; the store sold an earlier, different robot (the L2, $1,288, Batch 1 of 100) at the same address in June and July, and no buyer has posted an A3 yet. Nori's paper says its figures describe the design, not measured performance.
What it does on day onewith zero programming
Per Nori's docs, you pair it to a Nori account, then drive it by keyboard in a browser, in VR or from code, record demonstrations of a task, have Nori's cloud train a policy on them, and run that policy from your own computer over the network. The YC profile says it handles 'basic tasks out of the box', but the docs say on-robot perception is not working yet, so expect teleoperation and teaching before anything runs alone.
Best for: Developers, students and tinkerers who want the cheapest two-armed mobile manipulator for imitation-learning and home-task experiments, and are comfortable teaching it by teleoperation and running policies from their own computer.
Documented uses
Manipulation researchHousehold help
Nori documents teleoperation (browser, VR or SDK), recording demonstrations, cloud training of imitation-learning policies and running them from your own computer, and its order page shows kitchen help, tidying, fetching from the fridge and folding clothes as the home tasks it is taught.
Its own docs say on-robot perception does not work yet ('perceive() returns null on real hardware') and the skill marketplace is not open, so every task is taught by your own demonstrations. The current batch ships 'fall 2026' with no date, and no buyer has posted a delivered unit.
Source reviewed 2026-10-22Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.
What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access
A computer on the same network to run trained policies (Nori's desktop app installer is not available yet; the docs say to run it from source), Python if you use the SDK, and Wi-Fi. A one-way 'developer posture' opens SSH and the robot's ROS 2 graph on your LAN but removes Nori's cloud features from that unit.
SDK access: Python SDK (nori-sdk on PyPI) and the wire protocol are Apache-2.0; a TypeScript SDK is not on npm yet. The robot description (URDF for Isaac Sim, MuJoCo and Gazebo) is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, printable parts are CC BY 4.0, and the on-robot software is source-available under the PolyForm Internal Use licence: Nori's own docs say it is 'not open source in the OSI sense'. Datasets use the LeRobot format; training runs in Nori's cloud.
