Reality check
Behind the friendly demo, most real chores are done by a remote human piloting the robot through your home, so you are buying an early data-collection platform, not an autonomous butler.

US consumers first: 1X lists only US deliveries for 2026. Other regions can deposit (the checkout has a country selector) but wait with no date: 1X now says only that international deliveries will commence later, after saying at its October 2025 launch that other markets would follow from 2027.
Price notes: Two models on 1x.tech/order: Early Access ownership at $20,000 (3-year warranty, priority delivery) or a $499/month subscription. Both need a $200 refundable deposit. 1X says deliveries start with Early Access buyers and then subscriptions, and that some buyers will get NEO in 2026 and others later. 1X says its first year of production capacity (10,000 NEOs) was booked in 5 days. No EUR price; EU orders are waitlist only.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Day one: voice conversation and a small set of autonomous basics 1X names (getting the door, putting dishes away, turning off lights, cleaning up trash, watering plants). Harder chores are human-in-the-loop: 1X lists laundry, emptying the dishwasher and tidying the whole house under Scheduled Expert Mode, where you schedule a 1X Expert to guide it remotely while it collects training data, or you pilot it yourself via app/VR.
Best for: US early adopters who want a home humanoid now and accept teleoperation and a data-collection role.
Documented uses
1X takes preorders ($20,000 or $499 a month) for NEO as a home robot for scheduled chores, listing putting dishes away, cleaning up trash, laundry and tidying.
Preorder (US deliveries listed for 2026); 1X files laundry, dishwasher emptying and whole-house tidying under Expert Mode, where a remote 1X employee supervises and guides the robot.
Source reviewed 2026-10-05Assessment from published documentation, not an independent performance test. Applies to the configuration described above.
