Grippers, not dexterous hands
Each arm ends in a simple 2-finger gripper for fetching, holding, and light manipulation (opening a fridge, retrieving clothes, handling board-game pieces). Note: the earlier research platform Roboy 3.0 had tendon-driven 9-DOF fingers, but the current commercial care Robody uses 2-finger grippers, not anthropomorphic hands. No optional dexterous-hand upgrade is offered to customers.

Reality check
You are subscribing to a human-in-the-loop care service, not buying an autonomous robot: a real person drives the Robody over VR every time it does something useful, and there is no price list, no SDK, and no way to own the hardware.
Can you get one, and what will it cost?

You cannot order the Robody today: it is b2b only.
You cannot order a Robody as hardware. Devanthro sells a managed care SERVICE (the robot plus a trained remote human operator), engaged through care partnerships (care@devanthro.com) and via German care organizations. Families do not buy the robot; they subscribe to the service through a partner. There is no online store, no consumer checkout, and no unit price list as of mid-2026.

Price notes: No hardware price and no published subscription rate. Devanthro positions the service against a German live-in caregiver, which it cites as starting around 2,800 EUR/month, but has not published its own Robody service fee. Pricing is quoted per care partnership, with validated German reimbursement pathways (Pflegekasse) explored through care-provider partners. Treat any figure as unconfirmed until quoted by Devanthro.

About the Robodybackground, hardware and buying reality
Devanthro sells a managed care service where a trained human operator pilots the Robody over VR (with AI handling routine tasks) to fetch items, prepare food, remind on medication, and hold real conversation. The current platform pairs two 6-DOF arms with 2-finger grippers, a 4K fisheye camera array, mm-wave radar and stereo mics, Nvidia Jetson Orin compute, ROS2, and a self-docking ~6 h battery, with teleoperation latency under ~200 ms. In private homes since 2024, it reached a milestone in January 2026 as the first humanoid to care for a person with dementia at home. Access is B2B through German care providers with validated reimbursement pathways, not a store.
What it does on day onewith zero programming
Day one, there is nothing to program: a trained Devanthro operator connects over VR and pilots the Robody in the home. It fetches items, opens the fridge, retrieves clothes, helps with meal prep and medication reminders, plays board games, and holds real conversations through the operator's voice, with AI handling routine moments. Glass-to-glass teleoperation latency stays under ~200 ms on ordinary residential internet, and the robot self-docks to recharge.
Best for: German care organizations and families seeking 24/7 remote-presence elderly or dementia support at home, who want a working service today rather than an autonomous robot to own or program.
