Reality check
It is a superb legs research platform, but out of the box it has no arms and no price tag: expect a quote and a build-up before it manipulates anything.
Can you get one, and what will it cost?
A planning estimate with machine, freight, duty, and tax shown separately.
Yes, with work: importable into United States.
US authorization: We found no public FCC ID for this model. Since 28 July 2026 a foreign-made robot can be sold into the US only under an FCC authorization from before that date, so ask the seller for its FCC ID, or its Supplier's Declaration of Conformity dated before 28 July 2026, before you pay.
The maker publishes no price for the Kangaroo, so there is no base for a delivered estimate to United States. Seller prices, where listed, are under Where to buy, and the concierge can get a real quote.

Research institutions only. Confirm eligibility and configuration with the seller.
Research institutions and industry R&D, by quote.
Price notes: On sale since August 2024 (first unit to TU Wien); price undisclosed, quote via PAL sales. A legs-first agile research platform; arms and torso DOF are paid options, and PAL publishes the platform as 1.58 m and 50-65 kg because the configuration you order changes both the DOF count (14 to 40) and the mass. The stored 55 kg is the middle of PAL's own range.

What it does on day onewith zero programming
Dynamic legged locomotion research: walking and squatting with load. No autonomy or manipulation without the optional arms and your own software.
Best for: European locomotion labs that want an agile, well-supported bipedal research base.
What it takes to developskills, gear, and SDK access
A locomotion research team; ROS2 and whole-body/MPC control expertise.
SDK access: Open research stack with decentralized per-actuator motor control and PAL academic support.
