Reality check
Unitree has published a price and a spec table but nobody takes an order for the G1+ yet, so treat US $15K (tax and shipping excluded) as an announcement, not a quote.

About the G1+background, hardware and buying reality
The G1+ keeps the G1 body (134 cm standing, 69 cm folded, about 35 kg with battery, 9000 mAh quick-release battery, about 2 hours) and adds a 2-DOF neck, up to 110% more shoulder and waist motor torque, 43% more arm torque, a stereo plus wide-angle camera pair, head touch sensors, a 6-microphone array and support for running on external power. Arm load is about 3 kg (about 4 kg on the EDU), and the load varies a lot with arm posture. The standard G1+ has 25 DOF and an 8-month warranty. The G1+ EDU goes from 25 to 45 DOF with optional dexterous hands and a 3-DOF waist, adds secondary development and an 18-month warranty, and is quote-only. Press coverage dates the launch to 14 September 2026. A month later the robot is still absent from Unitree's store and from every dealer page I could read.
What it does on day onewith zero programming
A walking biped driven with the included handheld controller. Unitree lists a head touch sensor that starts dialogue and motion, a 6-microphone array with sound-source localization and two 10 W waist speakers. Unitree also says some sample functions on its page are still being developed and tested.
Best for: Teams that already want a Unitree G1 with a movable head and can wait for a real order path, ideally the EDU edition for development.
Documented uses
Unitree says external power suits 'research and demonstration scenarios', and a head touch sensor starts dialogue and motion.
